Breaking through the Clouds: A Participatory Action Research (PAR) Project with Migrant Children and Youth along the Borders of China, Myanmar and Thailand
The study seeks to outline methodological aspects of Participatory Action Research (PAR) with migrant children and youth in the boarder region between China, Myanmar and Thailand. In order to get an insight into the lives of migrant children and youth, their realities, challenges and decision-making processes and to understand migrant children's perspectives and needs in relation to migration, the PAR methodology has been found to be most effective in communicating with children and youth. Participatory action research has allowed not only to understand the nuances and complexities of migrant lives and their decision-making processes, but also to facilitate partnerships in addressing the many sensitive issues which migrants face.
